My story: Google Verified Veteran Owned Business

There are over 2 million veteran owned businesses in the US. Thanks to Google, they have made us easy to find. I was drafted in 1966 into the Army. I served two years and during that time I went to Vietnam and was stationed in the Central Highlands for 9 months. When I returned from Vietnam in 1968 I went to work for my dad Ed Wilhelmi who owned Ed’s Body Shop in Marysville WA. I worked for my dad in the body shop since I was 14, however, when I returned from Vietnam I wanted to learn the business so I could someday own my own. Interstate Auto Body and Truck was founded in 1985. Thanks to Google and their Veteran Owned Business feature – civilians and veterans can now search for veteran owned business to support those who risked their lives for freedom. The other great attribute of being a Google Veteran Owned Business is that those veterans who are transitioning back into civilian life now have the extra support as they build their digital presence and build their well-deserved American dream.
